For some reason, the train scene before this song in which surya brings out his guitar and plays "En iniya pon nilave" reminded me of Florentino's wooing of Fermina in "Love in the time of cholera". Florentino goes to Fermina's house every night and plays his violin outside her house. I agree that the former is fleeting and the other is relentless bordering on the obsessive but is it the spontaneity of the gestures that allows one to come with connections as tenuous as this?

My personal favourites from this movie are Ava Enna and Annul Melae-the soothing melody of the latter calms one's mind troubled after listening to the former's almost visceral outpouring of grief. Plus, both the songs have wonderful lyrics and are backed by excellent vocals.

The Surya-Divya episode seems like an ode to the Mohan-Revathi episode in Mouna Ragam though Divya does try her best to spoil it with her stilted dialogue delivery.
